Design the Future
Muraspec has announced Amy Humphries as the winner of its latest competition to find a young design talent. Now in its 4th year, Muraspec collaborated with Loughborough University’s Printed Textiles course to give students the chance of designing artwork to be manufactured into a commercial wallcovering.
With a broad spectrum of designs submitted, encompassing distinctive colourways and intriguing patterns, Amy Humphries’s design, Venus, was announced as the overall winner. Critiqued by an esteemed panel including top industry editors, the judges were highly impressed by Amy’s fusion of traditional colours and contemporary designs, which created a luxurious statement piece, ideal for the hospitality sector. Amy was inspired by the rich and regal colours that are often associated with stately homes and wanted to evoke a similar mood within her piece. In recognition of her winning design, Muraspec awarded Amy with a £500 cheque and a week long work placement at its in house design studio, where she will have the opportunity to see her design launched within Muraspec’s Limited Edition Digital range.
The Limited Edition Digital range provides the opportunity for both designers and specifiers alike to create bespoke designs with high impact visual messages.
